Helping hand Jan Blanken Dry dock

On Monday, April 29, 2024, sailing ship TX-51 will enter the Jan Blanken dry dock again for maintenance. In the morning we sail into the dry dock. When the water is out of the dock the 120-ton sailing ship is placed on a trestle, stretched between large steel cables and drying structures. A powerful sight and a wonderful experience every time. To complete this major job we need volunteers who are willing to roll up their sleeves. The ship will be sprayed on Monday, rust spots will be removed on Tuesday, and several layers of primer will be applied to the hull on Wednesday and Thursday. The antifouling will then be applied on Friday. If you want to register for several days, you can of course stay overnight. Food and drinks are provided. Of course, a nice beer at the end of a working day will not be missed. Impression.
